First run with new shoes, Saucony Trigon 5s.  A bit faster than typical for me on this course at a 7:15 minutes per mile average pace.  This might be due to new shoes, or it might be due to putting the spurs to it a bit more because of having new shoes.  During this run I listened to a podcast about global warming.  It discussed the need to establish carbon emission as a commodity that can be traded and valued so that steps that will reduce carbon emission can be finacially motivated.

Spring must be taking hold because I saw my first snake of the season on the trail today.  A speckled kingsnake.

I am envious that you can run at that pace and still manage to identify a snake.

A corollary to the expression that you have to take time to stop and smell the roses should be that you have take time to stop and look at the snakes. :)
